DIVELOGIQ / DOCUMENTATION

Understand. Set up. Get started.

From your first entry to a personal IQ suggestion: the main steps for your logbook, certifications and dive sites.

01

Sign in and get started

Create a free DiveLogIQ account or sign in to your existing account. The app and desktop client start with sign-in. Activate an initial account by choosing your own password. A saved valid sign-in also works while travelling without a connection.

02

The IQ principle

Record the water, suit, cylinder configuration, weighting and your assessment for each dive. For your next preparation, IQ finds comparable personal entries. Suggestions link to their historical evidence; without relevant examples, the result remains open.

03

Import-IQ

Open Customize and the Excel import; on a phone, Customize is under More. Select the sheet and header row, review field assignments, types, units and grouping, then inspect the preview and confirm the import. The source file remains unchanged.

04

Show your certifications

Open Certifications and add details and PDF, JPEG or PNG originals. Front and back images are supported. Open the documents you need before travelling so their originals are fully available. Certifications are not verified with their issuing associations.

05

Maps and personal sites

Open Map and activate the included Sharm starter package. Search the available catalogue or create a personal site, including sites without coordinates. Explicitly assign a site to a dive. Personal visit markers come from completed dives; downloading a package does not create a visit.

06

Sightings and species

Choose Place, sightings & buddies on a dive. Record the species name, count, uncertainty and notes. Regional suggestions use historical sources. Optional global name search helps identify a species name and does not establish that it occurs at your site.

07

Buddies and deliberate sharing

Under Buddies & feed, look up an exact friend code and send an invitation. A friendship starts only after acceptance. Share a completed dive through its reviewed preview; coordinates require a separate selection. A name entered in your own buddy field does not send an invitation.

08

Continue on another device

Use the same account on Android and Windows. When connected, the logbook, personal map records and certifications including originals are synchronised. Concurrent changes retain both versions for an explicit choice. Check pending transfers before switching devices.

09

Backup and restore

A complete app backup contains the logbook, personal map records and certifications with originals. It belongs to that account. A recovery copy is created before restoration; older logbook-only backups replace only their supported part. A separate backup complements device synchronisation.

010

Profiles and custom fields

Profiles determine visible fields within the same logbook. Switching profile preserves existing values. Custom fields and personal equipment require the corresponding account entitlements.

011

Prepare a trip and dive site

Choose your destination, dive site and configuration. Use relevant previous entries and IQ suggestions as personal guidance. Use appropriate dive instruments for decompression and gas calculations.

012

Account and access

Current entitlements allow up to 30 days offline. Afterwards, reading and export remain available; editing requires another online entitlement check. Signing out or changing plan does not erase existing records.
